We are Beyn Collective, an Egyptian-german team at the intersection of arts and research using participatory methods. Our backgrounds range from journalism and writing to design, ceramics and cooking. We are based in Cairo, Egypt.

We are currently working on our pilot project, looking at the depiction and perception of women in Egypt in contemporary photography. Therefore, we collaborated with various photographers and conducted workshops in Cairo to understand how the photos from our sample are perceived. Based on our findings we developed a collaborative exhibition concept to explore strength through multiple female lenses.
